As we usually have a writer, painter, or some other friend living in the pigeonnier during the winter the house does not have the rather bleak feel associated with places kept exclusively for holidays. While not luxurious it is well equipped with all that you would normally expect plus gas central heating,a microwave oven, use of a freezer and washing machine, good garden furniture, a barbecue, music system, and a decent 'batterie de cuisine'.

The 3' thick stone walls and good insulation ensure that the house remains cools even in the height of summer and is easy to keep warm during the winter months. Although the house and grounds are not overlooked by any other property 'Sage' is not isolated.

There is a swimming pool and several tennis courts within 3 kms. and an l8 hole golf course and man-made lakes within easy reach by car. Riding and canoeing are available in the Bergerac area and one can fish in the Dropt a few minutes away. We are surrounded by many of the most beautiful bastide villages and impressive fortified castles in all France,and the cave dwellings, grottos and paintings of the prehistoric inhabitants of the valleys of the Dordogne and Vezere river areas are little more than an hour's drive from the house.
