Thanks very much for this kind gift Georgie and my first greedy reaction on behalf of our charity (which desperately needs the money) was to go along with your appeal. But I feel ashamed of that as although Nicholas may in some afterlife appreciate mine and the Centre's knowledge for his funeral, in his life the Centre was not his scene at all. He tended to think death was ghastly and even to talk about a funeral put him off his food. Also I am in no sense his heir just his friend. His heirs will be those who follow through on his main passion, exploring psychedelic research. I know for sure he would like any money in his memory, if money helps, to go to MAPS, the multidisciplinary association for psychedelic research, run by Rick Doblin and colleagues. Nevertheless, any of you out there, unlike Nicholas, interested in subjects like woodland burial and care for the dying at home are welcome to visit our Natural Death Centre. It's a project of the Institute for Social Inventions which Nicholas was slightly more interested in - he was a director - as he was a natural social inventor, full of cunning ideas for social change.
